Semantic Approach to Implied Negation and Its Translation

Abstract：Implied negation is one of the most important linguistic phenomena in English. From the perspective of semantics, grammar, rhetoric and pragmatics, this paper classifies English implied negation into four categories and suggests specific translation methods to be applied.
